When asking Bll Filbin, of ReMax, why he is considered a top producer, he instantly replies, "I've been a 'Multi-Million Dollar' producer every year, a 'Top Agent' , and a 'Top Producer' for the state of Florida (June, 2008). I have been the top Marco Island agent many times."
Filbin has owned land in Florida for over 40 years, and has been a resident and homeowner on Marco Island for 30 years. He is a full-time, year-round Real Estate Agent, taking great pride in selling more than 275 million dollars of real estate on Marco Island.
When Bill made his first stop here in 1978, the bridge to Marco Island was still a toll bridge! His family had bought a condo on an "island" he knew nothing about. But he soon discovered that the beauty of Marco Island overwhelmed him, too. He moved to Marco in 1984 from Grosse Pointe, Michigan.
Bill was with U.S. Naval intelligence at the United Nations Command, Seoul, Korea, in 1969. As a U.S. Naval Advisor, he served in the Republic of South Vietnam in 1970.
After military service, Bill was appointed Deputy of Protocol for the U.S. Embassy in Saigon, where he became actively involved in the Amer-Asian Orphanage Program.
Also a licensed U.S. Customs Broker with the Treasury Department, Bill was appointed to two two-year terms on the President's Export Council, in 1978 and again in 1980.
Filbin's hard work and dedication carry over into everything he does. For the past 18 years he has been a very active volunteer and co-chair person for the Special Olympics of Collier County.
"The special athletes are Angels on Earth" Filbin says. "It is the most rewarding experience to work with these individuals."
Filbin's clients say he is happy, friendly, positive and always upbeat. "Making people smile and laugh is so important, " Filbin says. "We work in a very serious type of business. But I think relaxing and laughing are the keys to success."
His clients seem to agree. "After a few minutes of talking wiht Bill, everyone is smiling and having a great conversation."
After the sale, Bill is there to assist wherever he can, not just in Real Estate. "Taking care of home repairs, starting cars, and yard problems are the kinds of things my clients (friends) ask me to help out with," says Filbin. "Every seller or buyer I have worked with has become a friend. I enjoy helping them out."
"I don't make promises, " Filbin concludes. "I perform."
Bill is also a member of and past Ambassador for the Marco Island Chamber of Commerce.
